Taking Pictures

I am new to this but, I knew I would eventually make this blog. I have been making photographs of my kitchen project for some time now. My phone spit out 468 results when I asked it to search my photos for Food.

That’s when I realized I am going to be working differently in order to help anyone out. Some of the pictures were nicer than others and I might be able to share them with you as I begin to get more organized. None of the photos were actually staged, no special lighting or props, just a plate on its way to the table.

This bring up another of my personal struggles and dilemmas…I don’t write things down. Most of the pics were afterthoughts I even had a few pics of half-eaten plates. The “oh that tastes great better take a photo”, attitude is something I will work on 🙂

Taking pictures of my food was more of an aversion than anything else. I find it irritating to go to a restaurant and watch patrons take portraits of their meals as they would of themselves standing in front of the Eiffel Tower! (then send it back to the kitchen complaining its cold). So as I flipped through the 468 food pictures on my phone I saw I was guilty at times too. Of course someone could have sent me the picture and i just saved it to try and recreate.

Recreating something I have eaten or seen is probably the most fun I have in the kitchen. Just don’t photograph me doing it. I get in the do not disturb mode. based on the fact that I don’t write recipes down (I will from now on) I am going to be in the DND mode trying just to recreate what I have already cooked and photographed!
